Time, ever the grandest enemy.

Jeeze. Not only did I fail at keeping up with a blog, but I didn’t even have the decency to talk about it.

So what I’ve been up to while not adding anything to the site… I’ve written several, 7+ short stories that I loved and submitted them to a quarterly contest over the last couple of years. Practically every story garnered an honorable mention– which as described by the contest,–meant it was a good story but didn’t place either because of personal taste or simply being beaten out by better stories. All of that being said, I do have an anthology releasing titled Stones, Stars, and the Storms Between. These stories shaped my writing experience so far, and I’m excited to share them, as each one holds a place in my heart tackling the darkness and light of humanity.

That’s not to say short stories are all I’ve tackled. I also have written an entire epic fantasy novel. Of Stars Below. This bad boy was the first draft, and rough, but I like to think it cleans up about as nicely as I do. Which is to say the second draft is nearly finished at 160k words and looks a hell of a lot better than the first did, even if the first might’ve caught my eye after a few drinks in a dark bar. Long story short I’d be happy with the second draft coming around family, and by the time I finish the third draft, it’ll be a real beaut.

I’m also 50% of the way finished with a slightly less epic, but still pretty neat, fantasy novel titled Bloodwoven. Set in a completely different world than any of my other stuff it is a smaller take on fantasy and should complete at about 90k words. I think in the future I’ll share an excerpt. Perhaps I can get back to a weekly update schedule.

To conclude, for any of you who originally subscribed hoping I’d be putting out regular updates and content, I’m sorry for failing you. Know that I wasn’t idle, instead working and learning more of the craft over the last few years, honing my voice until I’ve become more confident in my talent.
