About Me
When I’m not writing, my dog thinks I’m an excellent ball thrower, and my cat thinks I’m a mediocre chew toy, but both take advantage of my availability.

Fantasy Novelist and Short Story Author
I’ve always loved fantasy, devouring the Lord of the Rings before I finished middle school. Watching the animated hobbit movie well before that. The Eragon craze swept me up as much as the Harry Potter one did. The Elfstones of Shannara hold a special place in my heart. Magic means something to small children. Possibly even more so to the ones who had to grow up too early. The ones who never quite felt like they fit in. For me, getting older hasn’t meant a lack of magic. It’s just become more apparent off the pages. A special thank you here to my supportive family, friends, and, of course, my amazing wife, who would never let me stop dreaming, even if I tried.
“Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”― Patrick Rothfuss
“People who deny the existence of dragons are often eaten by dragons. From within.” ― Ursula K. Le Guin
“Fantasy is a higher form of Art, indeed the most nearly pure form, and so (when achieved) the most potent.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien
“I guess it can be. There’s a battle, there’s a quest. There’s a young hero who learns something about himself and a wise mentor who has some kind of magical powers. There’s at least one magic tower, or at least an unusual tall building of some kind. That could describe pretty much any epic fantasy going, excellent or awful
